Washing dirt,dust,etc.. from coco blocks?

I started noticing when I look at my root balls after harvest some have sand, dirt or mud like material covering a few inches where the roots end.

I think it’s the containers that get filled with what’s left in the bottom of the bin I soak or charge my coco blocks in.

So I’m going to try to wash the dust and dirt off the coco coir but I’m not sure how to not rinse away good coco.

I tried collecting the coco that floated only but once coco gets wet enough it sinks.
I could just not use the bottom few inches of what’s left in bin or find a way to get it out.
I made the mistake of not washing perlite before mixing and it clogged up the roots and drainage on bottom of containers.
Now I wash perlite by adding enough water until it floats and there’s a lot of dust that goes to bottom.I also after washing perlite soak it in a ph corrected nutrient mix.
Coco I haven’t figured out a way to wash out the dirt, sand and dust.
Any suggestions?

I’ll try a screen and see what I can rinse out.
I think when charging most settles to bottom of bin so I’m going to avoid using the last few inches off bottom of crate.
