I recieved 10 reg. Sweet n' Sour Widow seeds today. Figured why waste time, and started to germinate all 10. I placed them in a cup of water to soak for 24 hours. Tomorrow I will move them to a wet paper towel to soak for another day, and then plant. This will be an indoor, organic grow. After all the females are flowered, each pheno that finishes will be tested for THC, CBD, CBN, etc. Testing will be done by Green Leaf Labs, located in Oregon.

More detailed info about methods for growing these will be in the next post. I just wanted to take a few minutes and get the ball rolling. I'll do my best to with these and see what happens. Thanks to the Crew for giving me a shot at doing this test run. Lets see if we can find some good meds.:D

Hi All

great to see people start receiving the testers.

We have quite a few people world wide getting their things soon so it will be excellent to watch things unravel.

This is the only regular enriched CBD strain completed ready for the market but I will hopefully be changing that by the years end.

All the best and good luck with the grow Sb

Under the T5's, Walkabouts in the back

I planted all 10 seeds into 2 in. starter cups, domed them and placed them under T5 lights. 9/10 opened, the seed in the front of the middle pic has not yet. I labeled all the cups phenos A-J, placing the unopened bean in the cup labeled pheno J. The medium is Happy Frog soil and I presoaked with RO water, I am not going to ammend until the first transplant. I like to plant no,more than 1/4in. below the surface and carefully cover with loose dirt. Might start seeing sprouts as soon as tomorrow.

I will be making my own guano and worm teas for feedings. The guano teas are made from The International House of Guano Kit from SunLeaves. I add blackstrap molasses(Aunt Patties), humic acid (BioAg), Kelp Meal (Down to Earth), and then add Hygrozme enzymes(1/2 strength) to the tea after I dilute it. I brew all my teas for 48 hours, except the peruvian seabird guano(72 hours minimum). I also ammend my soils with these guanos and worm castings. Then I like to top dress in certain situations.

I will make sure to provide more info like soil mixes, ppm readings, etc. as the grow progresses. Also, I will keep track of the growth rate as these plants will not be manipulated in any way. Growing them straight up. I like to flower after they presex and at least 18 in. tall. Beyond quality and medicinal value, I also want to get an idea of how they can yield.

Sprouts

Phenos A-I have sprouted. The shells on most did not want to release very easily. Some had to be removed manually and pheno C still has its shell attached. I first saw sprouts at 7 pm(phenos A,B,E,F,G and H). Phenos C and D were up about 6 hours later. There is one mutation(pheno E) and I am seeing some movement with, what would be pheno Js, topsoil. I off set the dome on the tray so it can vent, tomorrow afternoon I will take it off.

10/10

Ended up with 100% germ rate. Since these seem to be some strong sprouts, it might of been better if I planted a little deeper. Probably would have helped shed the shells. Pheno C started growing, so I had to take its shell of with tweezers. It really didnt want to let go, but I got it with no problems. The only mutated pheno is E. Its an interesting one however. Other than one of the other phenos, which has a slightly underdeveloped first leaf that I think will correct itself quickly, all the other phenos appear to be normal, healthy and show some slight similarities. I will post pics in a day or two, after they open the rest of the way.

I guess what I described as "underdevelopment" on a certain pheno(H), could better be classified as a deformity. Still, I think it will grow out of it. Thanks Jack for helping me find that word "trifoliate", could not think of the right word. Phenos C and J are very similar to one another and I notice that the patterns in each phenos leaves holds some similarities. Some more than others.

Much love to all who are following this thread. Please feel free to comment in any way at any time. Heres those pics I promised:D

Day 9

Hey Fam,

Heres a quick picture update. The roots are starting to show out the bottoms of the cups. I am going to top dress with some Mexican Bat guano tonight and start getting ready to transplant within the next 7 days. Pheno is is the shortest at 1 1/4in. The tallest is F, 1 3/4 in. They are on a 24 hour light schedule still, under the T5's.

Hi Tony,

A better term for that leaf arrangement on pheno E is "whorled". They usually grow out of it and most times are males. They also usually show good vigor. If you are going to do any crosses you may want to keep an eye on that one or at least play around with it. Plants look really good.

Day 18

Man, time is flying by. All the little ones are doing great. On 5/25 I put all the seedlings under a 1000 watt MH, on a 20/4 photoperiod. I also top dress all of them with 1/4 tsp. of mexican bat guano that same day, and have been misting them with clean water periodically. They drink water very fast, and are probably the strongest seedlings that I have ever grown. I haven't transplanted them yet. I think they will be good for another 5-7 days.

Hey Betterhaff,

Not only is "whorled" a better term, its the correct one:D I did some more research and it wasnt hard to find. Good looking out bro.

peace to all

Hey Rhino,

Much love for the good vibes. I decided to transplant them just a couple days after my last post. I figured that vigorous plants like these might do better with some more space. I transplanted into 1/3 gal mix of just Happy Frog soil and Mexican Bat guano. I also dusted the roots with 1/4 tsp. of ZHO root enhancer. Im thinking that they are going to start branching out very soon. Especially since being transplanted. These beans would probably grow even faster if planted straight into a 1 gal container. New pics in a few days.

I would say that high-CBD smoke is probably the best option for a schizophrenic to try, as it tempers the "out of your head" feeling that high THC cannabis can cause.

Be careful though, and consider as well Critical Mass which has a very calming medical effect.

great grow waiting to see what these girls end up becoming

Here is the info provided by the CBD Crew site.
CBD Sweet and Sour Widow | CBD-crew

Resin Seeds has a strain called Sour P, but I dont have any clue what they bred the Widow with.
Resin Seeds

I understand that details regarding the the new cbd strains have yet to be shared with the public. Unless Shanti can help with this question? But there is no need to repeat yourself, Shanti. If there is nothing new to say then there is no need. Maybe you could help with the question pertaining to the strains medicinal benefits, especially if there are specific ones. I know very little about this cross unfortunately.

Pheno E

I will post the pics of phenos F-J immediately after this post. These shots were taken last night, on day 36 of veg. The majority of the phenos range from 12-13 1/2 inches in height, with the shortest being pheno E(at 10 in.) and the tallest phenos are C and I(at 14 in.) All of the plants are presexing, except pheno E. I can confirm 4 females(A,B,G,H)and 1 male(C) so far. Im leaning towards females for phenos D,F, and I. Pheno J is probably a male, but I should know for sure in a couple days.

I top dressed all the plants with a handful of worm castings on 6/15. Checked the bottom of each container and I am happy with the root growth that Im seeing. Its time to brew some tea and start the feeding regimen. The intenode spacing is tight on all of the phenos and they are just starting to branch. The leaf damage on the plants were caused by a jump in temperature when they were younger. I turned my fans off to collect some pollen and forgot to turn them back on after I finished. The room got very warm and the soil got a little to dry. They were small and it probably seriously affected transpiration. They have recovered very nicely though.

Peace
