Long have I pondered the idea of being able to force flower plants on a small scale. Many an hour has been spent thinking of a practical solution to this problem by me and plenty of other im sure.
For people around 50 ds north and up it would be great if you could start indoor, plant out late may and finish even the longer stains in august some time.
Every possible idea i have come up with has been impractical or to expensive, like tarping, or using and automatic swimming pool cover or a light rail mover or an auto curtain opener or using some kind of looped dome to cover em up, or possibly to use a garage door opener, then I thought about automatic sliding doors used horizontally and the list goes on.
Then there are the grobots

Great idea, but way to expensive, and the wrong country, so I looked into making my own, to hard. And on the high end of the scale light deprivation green houses

But at a cool 10k it simply isnt an option. But really cool any way.
But the other day an idea came to me in the form of a chicken. Some bright spark came up with this and it was almost like he had growing in mind.

the video shows it in action, it can be use like that or sliding up and down, i saw one for geese coops that could lift a fair wight 60 cm's. They even make them with timers, unreal. So if this was rigged up to a black peace of corrugated pvc, nice and light and light proof secured in place by some rails/ tracks. fixed on to somin like a potting shed
or somin home made then it would work a treat. done a few sketches and measurements over the last couple over days and i really think it could work.
They only cost a hundred and fifty the motor and timer. il try and get some sketches up if people think it could work, i really do. The possibilities would be endless. Whats so great about the automatic chicken coop door opener is that it is automatic, cheap and made to be used out side plus theres a few to choose from. What do you lot think, im going to do a bit more research and then order one
