400w hps shark shock grow with pics

OK so I've done about 3 runs of this strain so far. Started off planting 6 seeds and ended up with 3 females, withered down to my favourite shark. Still, gonna pop some more seeds later this year.

Anyway, without further adoo, lets jump straight into some pics of this knock out strain...

The above post was round one. A kind of tester run, selecting the best plant out of the 3 fems so to speak. Here's round two...

Only one nanner but no seeds. Not that I've noticed anyway...

And here's a shot of the last round at 7 weeks 12/12. 3 plants of the keeper pheno. (I say keeper, but I still need to pop the rest of the beans to see if I can better this lot...

Damn Man,

That third run looks titties! Must say very nice. I am getting ready to run a similar set up, did you run hydro or soil? How many days did you do each run? Did you have heat issues in a small area with your 400 if so how did you correct it? What was the smell taste like of the pheno you kept? Looks pretty sativa
From the last pic? Do you have an idea of how much meds you pulled off of the 400? Thanks in advance great looking plants awesome thread!

Hi weezy and thanks man. I'll try and answer your q's based on the last run. I grew them in Hempy buckets. 3 plants in total. Using coco and perlite as the medium (perlite in rez) it's a hydroponics method of growing fed with hydro nutes. I got a 6 inch extractor fan which switches on for 15 mins per hour during lights on and sometimes I use a portable fan with the flap open to bring in fresh air. Temps range between high 70's and low 80's. On occasion it can get a tad high, so I have to improvise by fanning the cab doors with the window open etc.

From rooted cuttings they was vegged under a 250w for about 4 weeks, and they spent the 1st two weeks of 12/12 under the 250w. On week 2 they went in the 400w cab for a further 7 weeks, so that's bang on 9 weeks 12/12. For my perpetual set up I get an extra couple of harvests per year if I do it this way.

She looks sat dom in the pics (because I defoliate) but really she's the most indica out of the bunch. I never kept the stretchier sat doms. It smells kinda "pineappley" if you know what I mean. Resinous as hell (the scissor hash or keef puts you on your ass in a heartbeat lol) and very potent. However, the yield is above average (I still got the rest of the pack to go through yet though).

She tends to grow golf ball kind of buds as opposed to colas. From them 3 plants I got around 8 zips of "A" grade bud and about a zip of "B" grade resinous popcorn (which I stash away for rainy days). "C" grade popcorn gets either chucked out or given away. Hope this helps.

Nice man thanks for taking the time to provide the info! I wouldn't throw out any grade medicine, why not hash it? Everything you said sounds great. My little ones are just shedding their shells today or tomorrow :) as far as the golf balls shanti said to look for that trait in a real widow, so yours must be black widow Dom. I grew the black widow once just had 2 phenos one was very big producer, and the other was quite a bit smaller chunky buds. They both were covered in resin and had that almost incense smell. The one with the smaller buds had a very slight berry or citrus type undertone. I am hoping for a smelly shark I have heard people say everything from bubblegum smells to fruity smells coming out of their sharks. But most of them come out saying that smell is masked by the resin covered earthy or incense smell. Either way I am sure it's some dank herb. Thanks for sharing your awesome grow. Peace

The c grade is way too airy for me to bother with and you need tonnes of it to make a gram or two of hash. It's far too much hard work for my liking and it aint worth my while imo. Not much gets chucked out, just a coupla grams of c grade popcorn.

Here's one of the plants on the day she was harvested...

And here's the nug shots...

And I got a couple more sharks about to get flipped along with a smaller shiva shanti II, again all growing in Hempy buckets...

Hi GM1.
looks nice.
I just got done doing a round of shark shock. I selected from about 40 seeds. I found a lot of diversity in the different phenotypes. I had several that grew cola style buds.

you probably already know but thats male flower you show has got to be from late flowering. you really can chop that stuff down at 6 to 7 weeks. I had 1 pheno that leaned heavily toward the skunk# 1 side that was ready at 5 weeks. but ironically did not have any smell to it.

my personal favorite pheno is the extremely sativa dominant one that I found. it's smell is of pure sugar. sweeter than snorting a line of sugar.

Good job on the shark, I am trying one of the parents (BW) very curious about the shark though. Nanners, I call them harvest signals! interesting how the girls make their own pollen if they have to wait too long:) Just like some of the human girls do (well, sperm banks lol)

Hi guys. It was one sterile nanner which I picked off. Not a single seed in sight, so there really was no cause for concern.

I'd never chop down a plant at 6 weeks either, yet alone 5 weeks. That's way too early and yield builds up during the latter days of flower. I could chop em down at week 8 but if left an extra week, you'll get some extra potency.

The nanner was from round 2. The 3rd round never produced a single nanner so I aint gonna lose sleep lol.

I've also noticed that when bushed out to oblivion (loads of topping, pruning and lst-ing etc) she produces golf ball buds. When vegged for a shorter time and topping/lst kept to a minimum, then she produces cola type buds with golf balls near the bottom of the plants. However, I've only done 6 beans so these findings aren't conclusive. I gotta get round to popping some more of these beans sometime soon to see what else I can find.

GM1,
is the buzz from those 9 week SS's sleepy at all?

I took my 6 weekers 7 weeks to get a little more out of them. if I did not have plants ready to replace them in Flower then I probably would run them a little longer.

Very sleepy. Great night time smoke (or day time, if you can handle it lol).

I heard that the white strains are best topped at around the 6th node then lst'd in veg, so I'm gonna try it on this young one. She was topped about 10 days ago in this pic...

And here she is 10 days later

Vegging in small plant pot under 125w cfl to limit growth for timing reasons. This is very important in my perpetual grow.

I've also got 2 big sharks that have been flowering for almost 2 weeks. The stretch aint over yet and already they're showing mega baby bud porn. I'll throw some pics later in the week.

Ya baby!! That's what I'm talking about those look sexy. Do you find the trellis net helps to train the plants better, or do they need help with support late in flower or maybe a little of both? I'm thinking about 4 more weeks until I will flower my ss. Do you think 6 weeks from germ is sufficient?

Hey ganja looks like you got those hempy buckets dialed right in. Looks damn good for 24 days those ladies are rockin. Do you run your PH at 5.6-5.9 with that setup. What is your PPM running at? Sorry for all the questions just curious:)

Thanks for dropping in guys :)

Weezy: I dont use a net. I got 3 rows of string in the flower cab to control canopy, lst and support. When the colas pack on weight, around week 5 or 6, that's when I gotta get the bamboo sticks/more string out for that bit of extra support.

Regarding veg, it all depends on your set up. Lights, temps etc. Top them at about the 6th node and lst until they reach about 20" tall them flip. You'll get short bushy plants with my particular pheno but other phenos may want treating differently, so IDK.

This pic is a shark clone standing at about 13" tall...

If she was vegging under the 250w in bigger pot she'd be too massive right now. She's going in a HB under the 250w about 2 weeks before flip. Top view...

greenlake: Hi dude. My dechlorinated (left to stand with lid off for about 24 hrs) tap water's at room temperature at 5.9ph. I've never measured ec or ppm in my life. Not needed with hempy buckets IME. Feeding canna hydro nutes atm but gonna switch to canna coco when I run out of nutes. I just had a look in your thread too. Amazing work. Your colas are insane man :)
