Here's the description of Haze x NL#1 from the 88 catalogue, as far as I know this was the first time Nev offered any Haze genes:

The NL5 x Haze and G13 x Haze first appeared in the 89 catalogue I think, NL5 x Haze was on the cover of the 90 catalogue:

I seem to remember that the cover had like a field of dope on it, but I am not sure.

I remember it was the Holland Haze, and it had a warning I remember that. It must have been 1987. I only ever ordered one catalog, after that there was never a need. It was more than $100 for 10 seeds I think $120 or $140, and the only strain in the book that cost over $100

Can you get ahold of the 1987 catalog?
Hi Joshua, I have the 1987 catalogue (1987 Revised Catalogue) in front of me, it has a "roadside ruderalis" on the cover, and Nev holding the hash bricks on the back. There is no mention of Haze in the catalogue.

I definitely remember reading the warning in one of the early catalogues, and I am almost certain that it was in a description of NL5xHz. Here is a link to the 1990 catalogue with the description I am referring to:
http://"http://www.cannabase.com/cl/...1990page3.htm"

this is from:
http://"http://www.cannabase.com/cl/...B1990cover.htm

this may or may not be helpful. sure would like to try some of that NL5Hz, and I wonder what the current mns offering is like...

I tried the link but got an error. I went to the homepage and I think it is under construction.

How long is the budding cycle for HZ X NL#5? The one I used to have had a budding cycle of just over 3 months, and it couldn't have been 90, that was too late. I still have seeds of it, up to 3/4 pure. Most of my seeds are 1/4 to 1/2 pure, but they express haze flavor even more than that because of careful selection.

I got it. Thanks for the link, that is awesome. It is not the discription I remember though. I am fairly certain it was pure Holland Haze, and the year would have been 1986,1987, or 1988, but I think 1988 was too late, I think it was earlier.

They sure mixed up the seed companies. SSSC had nothing to do with me except that they used some of my stuff. I never used their strains, which were mostly old school Dutch varieties.

Well I asked Nevil and he says he doesn't think he ever offered the pure haze, so at this point I am seriously confused.

I don't know, maybe it was NL5XHaze, the only problem is
The haze I grew had over a three month budding cycle though so that just doesn't quite make sense.

Me and like 3 other friends went in on it. The main grower was one of the other 3, who was older and more experienced than me, I never even collected my clones until a couple years later, cause I had no place for a setup at the time. He was a clone collector and had many different strains. Maybe it was a pure haze from some other source. He was one of the dudes growing the original chem bud, back in 85.

They were all to paranoid to order the seeds to their house, so they made a deal with me, I would order them give them up and I could get clones anytime I wanted. It was couple years before I finally got my own place, and started up. And I got the clones from my friend.
He gave me his best, which was Haze and NL #1 and he also gave me some stuff called Chem, in the end I wound up sticking with Haze.
and it was several years after that that I got into breeding because the quality of my clones was gradually diminishing.

I collected NL and haze the chem and some other shit I can't even remember the name or, I let the NL and other clones go a few years later, because I had become a haze fanatic. And eventually developed a haze hybrid that was early enough and much more productive. All in all I grew that original haze clone for around 6 years, before finally letting it go. And from then on out it was only my own personal haze hybrids I was on my own quest to find the perfect haze hybrid, a quest which lasted more than 10 years.

Thanks for all the info everyone, but unfortunately I am even more confused now than I was before.
