These are the roots from the male I had to cull. Not too shabby for the intense heat they went thru last couple months. Nice and white.
I can't remove them cause they are tangled with the others. Is that a bad thing?

This plant has been quietly rolling along. She didn't like being mixed with others and although I tried to shade her , I think I did it too soon and she didn't reach her potential in veg. Either that or she is a runt until stretch. I grabbed 3 cuttings.. waiting for root. we will see. thanks for checking out my grow. I appreciate it!

Default Pull those roots!!

Hey Arp

Did you pull those male roots out of there yet?? If not do it ASAP!!

Dead plant attached to roots in shallow water culture is asking for monumental disaster!!!

Attempt to not disturb the main root mass of the others but they can handle some abuse... Use scissors to cut away knots and tangled areas...

You dont want those dead roots in the water. Especially with high temps... You will sure cultivate a nice colony of root rot and it will spread to the other plants immedietely!!! Once that happens there is really no going back...

Check on them for the next 5 days or so and clear out any remaining spot of dead root mass that you might have missed on the first run through...

Adding some h2o2 or some enzymatic/root product might be an good option if its in the budget..:

The others might stunt for a day or two but it will be much better than a war with root rot...

Check ya later

Thanks for the advice OG. I have been going in and trying to strip away what I can. Everything was one huge tangled mess. Also as you know lifting that lid with plants and medium in it is a bitch. I probably should have just cut the plants down and left a little bit of veg on them. The roots look pretty nice. Temps are down in the 60s. I use Root Excelurator which definitely has helped me battle root rot in the past. I have my fingers crossed. I am too far in to have a problem like that now. I always get freaked out cutting away at roots. Especially when you don't know which is which.

Default Ohh fancy fancy

Woooohhh

Roots XL eh... Mr arpege is spending that big money

We use that product in veg and up to two weeks in flower. It will enhance root production but not do anything to the decaying root mass in the "res"...

Do you run the full line of H&G?? So far only the roots and drip clean have survived from our trials with hg... Too much smoke and deception with their products in my op... Always go back to the gh....

For the record i spoke to an h&g rep the other day and they recc dropping the 1ml of roots to 0.5ml per gal... Something about a formula change and new labels being printed yada yada when really its the crazy price of their product... Shit works though... No doubt...

Gh as a base with roots xl, hygrozyme, drip, and dyna gro protekt is the tits....

Stay on it bro you will be fine... Thing of the root system much like the foliage of the plant itself... Just as you dont need mass amount of fans you also dont need mass amount of "seeker" roots... Especially in hydro..... Im been root pruning for years and just as josh haze bonsai thread and any defoliate thread the roots will recover and become better... Check out google for the kratky method i believe.... Some pretty interesting theories of root development and particular root function... Guy from hawaii is doing some pretty incredible things in snading water with no aeration... Worth a look at if your blazing shantis haze...

All the best bud

Og
