thanks for the links JessE finding it very interesting and useful at this minute in time. alot of gm crop are made with a bacteria called Agrobacterium. this bacteria can transfer gene cells from itself to other living things not just plant. its dose this in nature not just by scientists in labs by infecting a plant while it its self is infected with a gene. in the wild it would only be 1 plant in very rear cases and the gene would be diluted in no time through breeding with normal plant. in a lab it would be hundreds of plant infected with any given gene to breed the gene into future generations. the bacteria Agrobacterium has the ability to pass its genes on to the next generation of infected living thing it infected. it implants its genes then passes them on to the next generation that's produced through gene infection. the reason most gm scientists use Agrobacrterium is because it simply has a better sucses rate than other methods. but is far from the safest way to do it as its all most is a cancer in its self. after infecting a plant it causes growths all over the plant just like cancer in the wild even affecting the roots of plants ect. so if a nasty little bacteria like Agrobacterium can infect just about any living thing then pass its own gene along with others to the infected living things. ( i wont say plant because its not only plants it can affect but dose in more cases) then pass it on to the offspring of the infected. why would anyone in there right mind wont to eat something infected and risk being infected? let alone recommend people grow infected plant to sell on to others its inhumane. in the wild it can help plants and stuff. give it to the nutty professor and he will destroy man kind with his madness and greed. i like this forum for a number of reason. 1 is the lack of greed here and the need for research before saying something good because it dose something good without looking for what it dose bad first. ge i think could have a good future in plant development but the greed behind it and urgency to make money from it with out research make it bad. MR NICE SEEDS AND RESEACH FORUM. it was the research part that made the site stick out for me. then when i looked in and seen how nice people were i just had to join. so i would like to thank you Jesse for the research you do for the site. for both strains and breeding thanks a lot mate. i am still a bit of a computer retard now & need to work on punctuation maybe go do a course at college and learn more as i waisted my school days getting drunk and partying as it was more fun at the time

WASHINGTON (AP) 4/1/2015
In an unprecedented move toward global harmony and solidarity, governments from around the world are scrambling to remove legal restrictions and barriers to the underground (and illegal) marijuana industry. The movement is speculated to be a reaction to the recent acquisition of patents for all genetic strains of Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis by the agriculture giant Monsanto. Whitehouse spokesman, Robert Glibb, today denied any connection saying "It's pure coincidence. Since the 60's, it has become painfully evident that Americans want to smoke their pot and have it too. The voice of America has been heard." Representatives for Monsanto could not be reached for comment. |

A point which seems to be lost on a great deal of the cannabis community, if or when it becomes legalized the same issues the farmers are facing with Monsanto could very well play themselves out in our industry as well. This is one of many reasons why the research conducted here at MNS is so significant, because without questions being asked and origins analyzed the true pioneers and legends of our industry stand to lose out to opportunistic enterprises with anything but our beloved plants interest at heart.
