Skuncle Lenny's search for an Angels Heart

Skuncle Lenny

2023 Circle of Excellence
Happy New Year with best of luck to all your growth experiences in the hobby and life.
Last year I won 7 auctions, started with Medicine Man and documenting under that strain & flipping it next week.

So my 2nd Mr Nice run is Angel Heart which I 1st soaked back on 12/6.
3 weeks later, the other day, I transplanted them into 2 gal pots where they'll stay for the month of January, and then the ladies will make it to the final destination of 8-10 gallon.
I only use organic soil of recycled Coast of Maine Stonington blend, to which I add their Lobster compost & their Stonington blend fertilizer. If there is a sign of early yellowing, then I add molasses water. The KISS method is working.
So 17 of the 18 Angel Heart seeds germinated.
I lost 1 early, then a few more due to being a bit hard on the babies to early with light and breeze. Reminder to treat them gently under florescent with a light breeze vs with the big girls...
I'm left with 14(the 15th in the pic, far R, is a separate seed experiment of mine).
They'll be vegging under my DIY LED's of 280w * 2 covering the 3.5 * 5 ft closet.
Longgg way to go with the target flip being early-mid March when the 8 Medicine Man finish up.
It's gonna be a good 2022.
Txs Mr Nice

3 weeks veg
I noticed I got carried away in my last post commenting on “12 girls”. I must have been high ... Let’s try again.
I have 13 growing strong and starting to show some variation in height and leaf structure/width. How many of the 13 will prove to be females, I’ll hope for six.
From the pics you can tell I am running a blue dominating veg light, and that’s along with a DIY 260 W Samsung LM301B dimmed down a bit. Running uniformly 400-600 per my meter. Seeing some very nice branching and growing strong all the way down to the first level of branches. I’m probably going to top them shortly, while considering that I’m also going to clone 3 to 4 branches of the final females. 5 weeks veg=1/31/22, so 2 days from today.

It’s been 30 days since I transferred from cups to the 2 gallon containers, so certainly time to transplant to the final destination. I’m doing my best to identify the males and females early, and I think I’m getting better.
Take a look at the bizarre male pod coming out of the branch on 2 different plants. Is that some kind of outstanding male trait that means something???
Identified 5 others that have pods like seen below, so right now I’m guessing 6 females & 7 males. Two of the females are easy because they’re starting to show hairs.
I’m transplanting the hopeful 6 girls right after this write up, i’ll leave the probable males in the small containers, and we’ll see if the 6 girls and 7 boys are the final result.AE01B1C1-8A9D-4DC7-8393-1E112E5B722E.jpegF812080B-49AE-4DBD-A451-7D6A8C726D28.jpeg4975503D-379A-4B99-96D1-D2551896853A.jpegBA152A95-5A54-43C8-9E56-178FE4F6C7D0.jpeg36E8F3C2-7A05-4087-87AE-3E5363CD0FC0.jpeg96AAD07D-7BC0-48B8-BAC6-AEFA527C6183.jpeg848E74A6-A67E-4204-838B-E7D609BC65D1.jpegEFC7B494-453F-4756-97F4-B5D5E67A3776.jpeg

I have had similar preflowers in places they shouldn't be as well. It is an interesting trait for sure .

Angels are almost 9 week germ/6 week veg
i’ve been holding out on the last two undetermined Angels, but no matter how much I hope it’s not changing the fact that they’re also males. So final numbers are 6 females of the 17 germinated. I have no complaints, 6 works for me. Maybe not the most potential variety, but that’s OK.

They’re all looking healthy and have plenty of time to really grow as I will not put them into flower until my Medicine Man finishes early to mid March, so a good 5 weeks.

I’m fortunate to have an environment where I can let the girls veg usually a good 10 to 12 weeks.

since I like to veg for so long the large majority of plants need to be topped, except those that wanna stay squat n fat.

I’ve been enjoying the benefits of some monster cloning so I think I’m going to wait until I flip these girls and then take the clones about 10 – 14 days after the flip.

I usually take clones at 4 to 5 weeks and it works as well . I find they root quicker too. And reveg by 2 weeks after rooting

7 weeks vegging looking healthy and happy

The 6 girls continue to grow with no issues. I wrapped that one square fabric pot with an ace bandage because it expands too wide for my area of growth so I made it a little taller than wider. Strange, yet fun.😜

Their flowering ties into my Med Man grow which should start finishing in another 4 weeks, so these girls are gonna be nice and fat come flip time. ☮️

;)......THANKS.......So far, so good. My usual neighbors, 🕷 mites, will be around eventually. Lots of 🐞 keeps them at bay + the occasional Captain Jack's Deadbugs has proven to keep infestations away. It's a trade off for recycling organic soil w/amendments, but worth it. Excited to watch Angel Heart mature. Happy Super Sunday 🏈
Let's go Joe Cool III

My flowering room is filled with Medicine Man which should start finishing in 2+ more weeks, and then I’ll start transferring one harvested plant for 1 to be AH to be flipped.

So next week I’ll add a good amendment of lobster compost, Stonington fertilizer, fish bone meal, some worm castings and top off with coco coir. I’ll do a thorough defoliation pre-flip.

🐞 keeping 🕷 mites at bay with barely any typical mite marks. Yellow pests strips controlling Lit’le black 🪰 .
Gonna take the clones 1st week or so into flower.
Always interested in constructive criticism and feedback.
Happy Palindrome day

1st of the month, 9 week veg, let’s flip 💐
B532D745-D340-4C40-ADDA-8190CB7B8123.jpegDecided that a 9 week veg was plenty, especially due to the girls having Haze in them. You tell me, but I would expect them to double in size post flip??? 🤔

I finished off each of the plants with a nice addition of Stonington blend fertilizer, Fishbone meal, lobster compost, worm castings and some coco coir.

I was able to create an opening in my flower room, down the middle of the finishing Medicine Man 🧟‍♀️to perfectly fit this next round of Angel ❤️ .
60-70 day flower targets Angels in early May 😎

Growth continues and white hairs starting to show. Defoliation opened up plants which seem very happy. Cruising along and using preventative measures for my usual 🕷 mite nemesis. Capt’n Jacks being sprayed tonite and just ordered 🐞.
