I'm currently smoking the La Nina and have to say that I love it.
Potency and flavour are second to none. I can't believe more people aren't growing it.

How does it fare outdoors under the sun I wonder?

I can only imagine.
Indoors it stretches moderately and although sparse to begin with really fills out and yields well. Resin production is off the scale.
Outdoors I would expect it to get tall and be totally covered in flowers.
In the end though there is only one way to find out!
