JC haze.

Hey everyone.
Just pulled a pack of F1 seed out of the fridge
The dad was a MNS SSH.
Going to run them to look for some mums to put to MNS black widow*(F1) male/s.

Widow dad over haze mum is a no-brainer.

Putting Nev's suggestion of a (F1*F1) 4 way, using distinct genetics into practice as well.
The other two lines involved are blockhead and god skunk.

Will post again when I have something to show.
Cheers

Hope everyone is well.
My seed was in the fridge for more than ten years.
They've spent enough time at room temperature now that I think they are out of hibernation.

Just put together a scarifier to give them a soak before germinating.

RO water at 50/0.05 EC, added CalMag to go to 300/0.3.
Also fulvic acid, kelp and seagrass extract.
Some yucca extract and pro-biotic seeded on kelp powder.
Soak water is 500/0.5 EC now.
The room I'm running the scarifier in is 23/73°.
I'll soak them 18 hours before dropping them into jiffy pots full of coco/perlite 50/50.
Fingers crossed

The BH SSH didn't work out
I think the seeds got left in a shipping container and got cooked during transit.

I went with a more hazey expression, in a mango*SSH (F1/in-cross??) both mid 2000 MNS stock
Not sure I've got the nett elemental profile correct, they look a little bit wrong atm

I moved them up into peat pots, I plan on potting on again into 4gal smart pots in another week

Two weeks today and I'm quite happy with them.
They are sitting on bottom of tray and a bit over wet, also being shaded by the widow*god that are older and in taller pots.
The stock is thickening up nicely now.
Funny thing, four or them sprouted to the second set of true leaves and lost the meristem.
Their laterals are starting to grow out, and will be easy enough to cut.
I don't think it was food or moisture levels, light either.
I think it was from the embryo.
They are running at 1000EC atm.

They are on RO water.
Silica
CalMag+humic
Kelp extract
Sea grass extract
Fulvic acid
Coco grow A+B
Yucca extract

The probiotic I'm using is seeded onto kelp, so a good serve of auxin and fulvate.

The only blockhead*SSH kept also lost it's meristem.
But none of the widow*god.
That's why I don't think it's environmental.
More likely it's a breeding issue. The same single SSH male was used for both sets of *SSH seed.

Sounds like you're handling it with a great deal of know-how brah. As you mentioned earlier about age and condition of seeds, I wondered if hormones within the embyro were compromised. Like you, I don't think it is environmental as the condition is occurring in the same place? I tend to agree with you about it potentially being a breeding issue. If that is the case, does it make sense to use this in your 4-way? Please keep us posted.

Hey.
Yeah I think it's worthwhile.
He was used over a few different cuts and always gave a bit to his daughters.
Peppery and resinous with a nice stretch
He wasn't the large internode hazey type, or the quicker skunk type.
He was the pheno that takes the most from NL5.
Really resinous with heavy yield of spiralling flowers.
If I cut one of the laterals out, the sproutlings would regain a single stem easy enough.

BH*SSH @39 days

Screenshot_20211010_072549~2.jpg

I think this one is a girl.
Nice subtie scent when rubbed, kind of a temple ball smell
Has been on 1400EC juice, and seems to enjoy the stronger food.
She has 3 main tops, and two lesser ones I'll take to make cuts.
Untrimmed so far, this was how she grew from seed.

One of the Super mango. ( Mango hz*SSH )

These ones were vegged under LED, and kept in the jiffys longer than they should have been.
Also younger than the BH cross.
I've been working 6 days a week, and out of the house 13 hours a day, with travel, so my garden has been neglected.
Only really getting attention last couple of days.
These are currentjy on 800ec.
When rubbed, they smell like dried mango strips, quite sweet and a kind of orange juice drink note, combined, not distinct.
No acridity, skunkiness, hash, fuel or liquor notes
