Not to make an arse of myself I decided to make a proper list.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972). I think I saw this the same summer .. again alone in front of the TV in darkness .. sitting like that kid from Poltergeist (1982) .. Aguirre is about one of the first Europeean expeditions into South America .. and filmed in place, YES!, and it was apparently a f**king insane shoot according to all involved I learned later .. I saw this unfold, Jesus .. I was just a Kid:

Presumed Innocent (1990). The greatest caracter Harrison Ford ever played was not Indiana Jones or that guy from starwars but "Rusty Sabitc" .. interesting name btw. .. "rusty's-a-bitch" and his wife is "Barbara Sabich". Here he is talking about his own presumed involvment in murder:

Badlands (1973)
Perhaps the most beautiful set of scenes put in secquence. It has the contrast of the enormously vast gorgeous plains of the dakotas and montana with a re-telling of real events. Yes, this happened more or less. Here is the opening sequence and where Tarantino got his inspiration for "True Romance" (1993). Perhaps even David Lynch mined this for inspiration, he's from around there .. see if you can catch the references:

The Right Stuff (1983) .. about the Astronaunts that went to the Moon .. for pure visual exhuberance:

No Way Out (1987). Yes, Dances with Wolves (1990) is the best he ever did (the recent Yellowstone TV series is amazing though) .. but I like this for the atmosphere and it is every bit as good as all of those above. Short clip:

I'd like to top it off by presenting Lightnin' Hopkins, the blues musician, killing a snake in a "hippy documentary" .. enjoy:

Weird sensibilities during these dark times.
