Default High CBD Strain Propagation Ideas

Howdy Do from the PNW. I am a patient/provider. So I have (serendipitous seed auction) a very stable, high balanced THC/CBD strain I call Good Medicine which I have been growing over 2 years. Been multi-tested from different labs runs 7-11+%THC, 7+-9+% CBD's . One lab also does all my medibles so it is tested repeatedly for uniformity which it maintains. (see current issue of Project CBD under availability) for my early run. Extremely well received and used for a variety of ailments, some with amazing results, particularly in the colitis, IBS/IBD. Crohns Disease, as well as great for pain. Also being used for one very high profile case involving brain cancer and a toddler.

What I'd like to do as i believe the good folks in charge here are working on as well, is getting this Medicine much more available. I have a very limited area as to breeding. What I have done so far is use a patients small greenhouse last summer to attempt Colloidal Silver sex reversal to make seeds. I was more successful with that than it looked like originally, so I do have some. I am currently growing 3 of those out for testing. In seedling stage now.

I don't know what to expect in general from these (s1's)? as to stabilization, consistancy and all that. And, if these are expected to be mostly? all? or random females. Anybody who is experienced I'd love to hear from you.

I would see if anyone on the board has a lab-tested male from The Remedy, Z6 or Z7. Maybe work out getting a clone or some pollen? Best of luck...I was really hoping to get a male in my Z6 testers but I got 8/8 females...I was supposed to get the regular version by I'm almost positive they were feminized since I have 100% female plants...I really, really wanted some males to test as well to use for breeding!

Cheers,
Sensi

Very interesting project Jolly Roger, this quote is taken from the ProjectCBD website......

Did you think that sought-after high-CBD strains are only found in California? Think again.“Good Medicine,” a CBD-rich strain grown in Montana, is aptly named because of its excellent healing properties.Good Medicine was a happy accident. Jolly Roger, the proud owner, had bought seeds of the strain at an online fundraising auction years baasck. He had the seeds for awhile until he started growing them. Initially, he was impressed with general high quality of the trichome-covered, purple herb. He noticed the favorable medicinal effects of the new strain and decided to have it tested. Good Medicine turned out to have a relatively low THC content compared to some of the most potent strains, but to be rich in CBD (9.03% CBD to 8.2%THC ratio, as tested by CannabAnalysis in Missoula).

The origins of this strain are Blueberry Trainwreck (aka “Derailed Blues”) crossed with Ogre, which is a special Sensi Star phenotype. Roger commented on the strain’s characteristics: “It is a very smooth easy-smoking strain. Not all harsh. The effect is also a smooth transition with a medium time frame onset to peak, say several minutes. The relaxing/almost narcotic pain reducing effects are also immediate. That is balanced with a very pleasant uplifting feeling which gives one energy without any over stimulating effects. One can get things done.”

Good Medicine’s reputation has not gone unnoticed. It was discussed at the October 2010 Montana State Medical Marijuana Growers Convention in Helena. Since the original creator of the plant lost interest in the strain, Jolly Roger is now the proud owner of these genetics. Good Medicine has sticky buds that are very dense and covered in crystals. This strain is easy to grow and needs average nutrients. Its branches are tall and spindly. The overall diameter is relatively thin, but the heavy buds form densely and beautifully. Good Medicine grows indoors and can reach 7 feet tall. The strain is a good producer and takes about 65 days to mature.

Jolly Roger has found Good Medicine to be just that. It has been reported that this strain has been very beneficial for those with neuropathic pain. One patient said it was the most effective medicine she has tried to date, including pharmaceuticals. It has also been reported to aid in providing relief for back pain. Roger’s patients, himself included, use it for back problems and find it very effective. Another one of Roger’s patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome said that Good Medicine helped relieve the nausea and cramping caused by his illness.

Rose Habib of CannabAnalysis is excited about the upcoming harvest of Good Medicine. This was the first CBD-rich strain that was brought to her lab. Habib had been researching CBD for some time and was surprised and impressed with Good Medicine’s test results. She is interested in testing the strain again to see if it retains the same CBD/THC ratio. She is looking to create an extract of Good Medicine that can provide pain relief without unwanted psychoactivity. With the new hype about this Montana grown strain, people can hope to see more Good Medicine available to those who need it.

hi there'' - Is z6/z7 one of shanit's plants isnt it?, sounds like he might have used a inter'sexed male going by your experience here, these give us a higher germ rate of female plants only, ive recently found the same thing in a project of my own, there quite handy plants to have around i find, abit of a bummer when ya want atleast one male i know mate, we must perservere though..!

Do you mean the brain tumor case of young Cash Hyde of Montana?

Since I read this, I've been wondering what happened (back in hospital, getting more radiation according to the article below) Youngest medical marijuana patient's cancer returns | The American Independent.

It seems like a DEA agent stood over the blog writer - not a peep about the Simpson (cannabis) oil the little boy was being given. I really wondered about the circumstances. I wonder if the boy has received the oil more or less continuously since he began with it last year? Or, did they stop the oil, or did they go on a smaller maintenance dose? I suppose lawyers have told them what to say and not to say. There's going to be maximum interest in a case like this with all the focus on the power of cannabinoids against cancers.

ED: I stumbled on this other site about Cash including the cannabis oil use.

The cbd thc tract seen to be a single gene, like if TT you will have thc only plant
if TC it will be half thc half cbd and CC all cbd.
In your s1 you will probably find 90% to 100% female and 1/4 will be thc only 1/2 half and half and another 1/4 cbd only.
If you could test and select among the cbd only, this will provide you with outstanding breeding material since every "normal" thc full plant crossed with a cbd only will give 100% half and half.
hope this helps.

Thanks blackberry Basic botany huh? Its been awhile. be wild if that's how it turns out. Wish it wasn't so $$$ to test but I'll do what I can.
donb Can't comment on lack of tears mentioned in the blog really. But yes he has been getting a steady supply, most but not all the time since late summer being CBD/THC. Might be in the blog, but the radiologist or nurse commented that he was doing better with the burn after effects than anyone they'd seen
