Default White leaf tips

Hi All,

My BW seedlings are about 1.25" all in rockwool cubes on a bed of perlite & have 1st leaves - came in healthy green. Today I noticed 2 of the BWs show bottom half of leaf is whiteish- almost as if dipped in white dye. I am a rockwool noob and may have over watered. Cubes moist and i ph adjusted them b4 inserting seeds.

Thanks, P77

pH was up to 7.5 so I watered with ph. 5.5. After 8 hours the white doesnt seem to be spreading but color of leaves is lighter green. Good strong root growth on all - will put in mini hempy buckets today(don't have space in growroom this week for 10 full sized buckets otherwise I would use them now.

I probably should have stuck with dirt(I'm experienced)instead of rockwool(I'm a virgin)...

Hi professor,
There could be a few problems, from reading your description it sounds like you've got some idea's of your own. If you feel they are too moist, pull back on the watering and make sure you have plenty of ventiliation and air movement. A picture speaks louder than words, though without being familiar with your routine and the plants environment true answers could be difficult to come by. All we can really do is work with the information you provide us brother.

In pm Ive provided some suggestions, you may or may not have some of them tied up by now. But ultimately I think we all want you to succeed my friend.

If its white and not white dust from the perlite you need to spray them with a lite mix of neem oil.
are you serious Hempy ?

7 is in the higher range of what we are looking for , why would you advise that ? i meen 7 is "okay" but not ideal

you want a 6 to 6.5 in soil ,and 5.8 hydro , 7 is okay but higher then we want

who is mixing nutes (that lower ph) for seedlings ? nutes will burn up your seedlings

you actually said you need to be giving your plants water of 7 ph Hempy , thats what im questioning

you also said , you add nutrients to the water not lower the waters pH to 5.5. ,,,,,

yeah the nutes drop the ph level , so what are you on about ? once you add nutes your no longer at a ph of 7 , but you said ,,,"you need to be giving your plants water of 7 ph"

Bob p77 posted that and there is no mention of nutrients added to the water to drop the pH to 5.5 pH is there so he adjusted the waters pH from 7.5 to 5.5 pH .

With a 7 pH water after you mix your nutrients in you should be in the range of 5.8 to 6.2 pH bob and i basically end up with a ph of say 6.1 to 6.2 ph and what i use.

Seedlings need feeding there not going to get any nutrients from rw or perlite are they and by only lowering your waters pH and watering them it is not going to be positive to them ether is it.

As for soil plants i like a 7 pH water.

read what p77 sed then what i sed it makes seance.
no it didnt make sence , you said to give them water at 7ph , so does that meen you use ph up after adding nutes to your water to bring it back up to 7 ? because that is what you said , i copy n pasted your words

if you ment something else you should have clarified that because to me it seemed as if you were saying to use a ph balance of 7

and 7 is on the high end of what we want so i was trying to figure out why you would advise it

this is now what you say and it makes sence ,,,,,,

"With a 7 pH water after you mix your nutrients in you should be in the range of 5.8 to 6.2 pH bob and i basically end up with a ph of say 6.1 to 6.2 ph and what i use."

your original post wasnt like this , thats why i questioned it

peace
