Default 2012 NL5/HZ and a 662 Watt LED

After talking back and forth with shantibaba, I received a pack of NL5/HZ beans and after getting a replacement for my old light (warranty issues - had a 2010 model and got the new, improved Black Dog BD700 Flower model - a 15 spectrum LED with uv/ir and 3w leds driven at over 2.5 watts each for max penetration - I love this light!) I am finally ready to start my journal here. I grow organically indoors and out, reuse my soil (old ffof, new ffof, berger bm7-a locally available nursery potting soil with a starting charge of organic nutes, perlite, and jiffy organic seed starting mix). I grow in smart pots and homemade rooting pots and cups, basically 20 and 32 oz styrofoam cups (i reuse them) with holes drilled into the bottoms and sides, all the way to within 1.5 inches of the top to allow for max air to the roots, and nursery pots with 2 1/8" holes with landscaping fabric lining them or hardware cloth - my latest favorite for root development. I will add lime, worm castings and high p guano to my soil or make teas as I go, along with molasses and guava nectar. I am also trying the new stuff being advertised in high times, supposed to be the best of both worlds - more to come on that, in the mean time I use General Organics bio line and also Blue Mountain Organics, available by email and off ebay - great stuff there, a 3 to 4 part mix that really kicks and I get my worm castings and guanos from them. I grow perpetually, or try to anyway, lol! Comes from trying new strains all the time and not knowing any flowering times!!

I removed the package and inspected the seeds and took the 3 smallest, not likely to germinate seeds and put them straight into soil like I always do, soaked in a solution of rainwater, kelp (general organics bio weed) and 1/2 strength olivias rooting solution. I usually keep a pot of this mix damp, just for germinating - keeps bioactivity in the soil. Anyway, 2 days later I have 2 showing above the soil, I'll take pics later today should be the third if it was going to pop by now. Anyway, I didn't think any of these would come up so I feel really great now! The start of a new year, my first thread here and getting off on the right foot. I'll get some pics taken and posted later today, have a good one!

Alright! Sorry about that, I included a pic of the plant that germinated outside in 32 degree weather and 9 hours of sunlight on top of a pebble - now thats a viable seed, fellas! Sam the skunkmans mix pack 2010 sk#1/hz x herijuana ibl or krazy kush, which is SFV OGkush x Motarebels KillaKush. I plan on transplanting the nl5/hz in a week into 32 oz rooting cups, then vegging for a month followed by transplant into 5 gal smartpots for 2 more weeks then into flower, for a total of 8 weeks veg give or take a week. I'm going to lst them to keep the canopy low and even, maybe top and fimm too, all depends on how they shape up. Anyway, here's to a new year, a new beginning and my first thread here at mns! Yahoo!

Hey Scarhole! Welcome to my humble abode! This is cool as maybe we can check out how the two different "generations" compare - glad to have you along for the ride! I'll try to keep it as entertaining as possible - sometimes I get into a depressed mode and just don't feel like posting, even though I've taken the pics, etc - but I'm feeling so good about getting these seeds, maybe I'll finally get out of this crap and really put on a nice thread for you guys to enjoy! I'm going to try for updates a minimum of once a week and hopefully twice and will also be including what I'm finishing out in my greenhouse right now and some other little tidbits - have a great day and keep the faith!

Default Thanks, folks!

I love growing, very much so - thats where all the passion is, well, that and in smoking the finished product, lol! Heres a pic from 12/22, there they are on the right - so far so good! Also pictured are some C99 x Grapefruit and (C99XGrapefruit) X Blue Geez, which I'm test growing for a friend. My led covers approximately 5X5 my area is approximately 2.6 ft. x 5.5 ft. x 8 ft. so I keep everything in from the edge - works out really well, just wish I had a wider space. The light I use is a black dog led BD 700 Extreme flower. It has 15 spectrums and 288 lights powered on avg approximately 2.52 watts each (some reds are under powered due to diode specs, all are 3watt leds). I also got 1 of the Mako Haze X NYCD I got from my friend Dimodz, who owns BeanExpress, out of europe. Mako Diesel, and he also got me some lemonade haze, which I'm not too sure on the strain info on that one yet but we're working on it - he got the lemonade haze from an Italian grower at the cannabis cup this year, as well as the mako diesel - thinking the lemonade is a super lemon haze cross but not too sure on that. Later, more pics coming soon!

Good Morning! Heres a few pics from yesterday, 12/26/2011
First the two NL5/HZ, coming right along, followed by the one mako diesel (mako haze x nycd) that came up - gotta get a couple more lemonade haze into germ mode and one more mako - I like to run 2 plants of each type, just because it's been something I"ve done since I started, regular seeds sometimes gives you that odd male, lol! After the mako diesel comes some C99 x Grapefruit (out of michigan) and (C99 x Grapefruit) x Blue Geez, also out of michigan. I've been running a Grapefuit Indica from bagseed out of Colorado, not sure if it's the same or not but will find out soon enough - the gi I am running is stout, not a big yielder but nice and grapefruitty, nugs hard as a rock and the smoke just lasts and lasts and lasts. Got a lot of stretch off of these though, caught me by suprise when they came up and got ahead of me really quick, lol! These babies are sure vigorous!! Coop, thanks for stopping in, Mojorisin, nOpe, this thing covers a 5x5 with ease, same as a 1k and will give a good 1k a run for its money imo.

Let me explain something about black dog led lights. When the owner first started putting up the site he got caught up in what the other led sites were doing with this little 250 watter equals 1k blah blah blah crap they put out but then decided to let the lights speak for themselves, hence the pics of marijuana etc with his lights and some of the other info there. Right now they are revamping the site, gonna take out the bullshit stuff and just leave the specs and stuff to speak for it. Black dog is also the only company to offer an unlimited warranty, fellas - not 3 and not 5 years but unlimited - thanks to me, as I was his first and only problem light so far - he didn't even have a warranty in place when mine went bad, lol, went from being a very limited 3 year to unlimited as long as you own it warranty - got to love that!
Anyway, he's just dropped prices by a couple hundred bucks on most of the lights, crazy but now they are more worth it than ever, wish I would have waited a year as I'd be rocking a 5watter right now, lol! These guys did a really good job getting the spectrums down, with 15 different ones they target specific peaks that assist in terpene and trichome production, etc., for tighter node spacings, tighter buds, frostier and tastier too - I know, I know, soil and nutes, h2o, but I'm telling you this light makes a big difference, from experience growing mh/hps before. I'm sold on LED's and will never turn back, unless they come up with a combo led/hps unit of some kind, that would be interesting!

Default a little premie bud porn

here ya go, some stuff finishing out in my greenhouse while I wait for my son to leave - he's a junior at the Air Force Academy and I shut down inside when he comes home - not so much for safety but for his mental state, as I never grew indoors when they were growing up, only out, and he doesn't get the multi room (veg/flower) concept at the moment. He's a great kid and understands medical use, he's just someone who, if it's illegal, he's not going to do it, period - not speeding not wearing seatbelt not crossing out of the crosswalk - he's a straight arrow, period, cracks me up sometimes. I hope he makes president some day, a lot of dumb shit would end overnite, literally! Anyway, to the bud porn - this is a kali mist x killing fields made by a girl - yes, thats right, a woman - this is my second run with her and I'm loving it - she turns colors without temps changing, although with cooler weather the lavender she was has turned a deep, dark purple - loving it, she's got a peppery spicey flavor to her, not too hard hitting but lasts and lasts -

Default NL5/HZ 1 and 2

Here are the babies after approximately 3 weeks, give or take a day or two - slow but steady - just a bit of stretch on the one because I thought I had it under the light but it was off to the side a little bit, hence the only real differences so far. Next is the Mako Diesel, then some C99XGrapefruit and C99xGrapefruit x Blue Geez from cabin fever seed breeders. Also is the "miracle seed", the samtheskunkman sk#1/hz pollenated with herijuana/krazykush that fell out on the ground and germinated in december, in freaking chilly weather to boot! MOre to come later!
