Ouch on the Peyote Purple.

I'll tell you what, though I used a male from Sandstorm. Selected through 6 or 7 packs, i can't remember which of Sandstorm JUST to find a keeper male. We bloomed out some beautiful females, but I was mainly interested in keeping the male that would shine through. We finally found one that I considered pretty exceptional based on structure, strong lemony scent, resin production, late flowering etc..

This went on to make some of my most underrated and best strains to date. Right now some are selling for more than the OG Kushes in a dispensary in the Bay Area. if you're familiar with dispensaries, nothing sells for more than OG kushes, so that's quite a compliment!

And I have yet to grow destroyer, however it's one I'd eventually like to get my hands on as I've heard nothing but amazing things about it from people like Loompa and Feral Lady. And when either of them speak about a strain, I listen.

But back to OPT and Bubba, the pre98 cut that I have was originally passed to me by Shithead. Shithead traded it to me for something a few years back, can't remember what, we'd known eachother for some time, I did ask his permission to breed with it, though it was a cut that was readily available, but I still find it polite to ask, he said yep, though I did see on one forum him making the quote that he wouldn't have passed it to me if he knew I was going to breed with it. Nice. I guess whatever it takes to stay on the good side of the hater bandwagon so they don't hate on you is cool. I don't hold it against him.

Anyway, the cut is phenomenal. Absolutely one of the most frosty beasts I've ever grown, as frosty as the LA Affie, but when I say that I should note that the LA Affie I've grown barely resembled Bubba, some people think LA Affie is just another Bubba. Not the case, LA Affie has one of those acrid and astringent chemical smells pure afghanis have. The S1's made of just the pre98 alone have been thoroughly run and one person I know, who has run some of the best strains I've ever come across to date still thinks my Pre98 Bubba S1s are some of the most potent plants to date. He ran it with my Green Crack cut and my Loompa's Headband hybrid, so it was next to two killer plants and it REALLY stood out. SO I can't take credit for the breeding of this pre98 Bubba, it was passed to me and has always been this amazing, but I feel that the S1's are superior to any Bubba out there. And again, it may sound cocky but I really had nothing to do with them being so good except for reversing and pollinating. Whoever made this cut is the one that deserves ALL of the credit.

New notes on the OPT at it's flowering:

Taking on even STRONGER berry smells... not sure that I'd identify it as Blueberry quite yet as I've known Blueberry cannabis to smell... but it's definitely a floral berry with some menthol/fresh background to it. It is now 5 weeks in. Not much branching. it didn't stretch too ridiculously much from what I can remember from when I put it into bloom, which is good because in veg this plant grows SO fast. it may be the fastest growing veg plant I've grown to date...and it was under T5's, not HIDs when it was in veg, so I'd imagine under HIDs in veg it would explode even faster. Yield is still small, but again I pollinated it early, so that's very much to be expected.

I also pollinated a 2nd selected Chemdawg D with reversed pre98 pollen. The Chem D that got hit with the Bubba is from an older small run of ChemD S1s I did. This is a clone of the Chem D I hit with the Green Crack - it grows in structure like the 91 Skunkva, but maintains that raunchy ass smell of Chem D in mid flower... i call it a baby shit smell. This selection is just about as close to Roadkill Skunk as anything I've ever smelled. Big, heavy yields and excellent resin production. I think there's been other Bubba Chems made, in fact I'm positive there has been, but not with this particularly selected mother, so I'm hoping the progeny will be very decent.

Well see how it flowers.
a little off topic but my ace's panama is a stinker too, only one sprout in a pack and this one is terribly deformed.
at same time la nina seeds 4/5 sprouted and are all good ones.
