That would have been me indeed. I was there in 2006, unfortunately it was April, so only young plants & seedlings to be seen.
That wasn't at all about "Kush", but rather about wild indica plants, and Swat is the only place so far where I've seen these. Been to Mingaora and Madyan, the latest having been a hippie haven during the golden age of the Hippie Hashish Trail (was way easier to go there than to Chitral at that time). I'm pretty sure a sizeable part of so-called "Hindu Kush" genetics come from there ( "Kush" is nothing but some marketing gimmick and simply means NOTHING nowadays, it shouldn't even be used in any serious discussion about HK strains in my opinion)
Definitely have to go back there at the right season !
